Halfway through the Gibson Impact Challenge 2025 – We need your help!

The 2025 Gibson Impact Challenge is now over halfway through, with teams across our London, Houston, Mumbai, and Singapore offices working together to cover thousands of kilometers in support of ChallengeAid, and now we need your help!
2025 Challenge Objectives
This year’s Impact Challenge aims to build on the success of last year. The team across Gibson’s international offices are collectively seek to cover the following distances:
- London, Houston, and Mumbai: 7,259km – equivalent to each participant climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Singapore: 7,500km – the equivalent of cycling from Singapore to Nairobi. The team have now surpassed their target! Achieving an amazing 7,620.62km! Congratulations to the Singapore team!
The fundraising target for 2025 is £10,000, to be donated to ChallengeAid for the construction of a new classroom at the Gibson School of Hope in Kawangware, Nairobi. This facility will provide a safe and secure learning environment and expand access to secondary school scholarships.
Funds raised in excess of the £10,000 target will be directed to charities selected by each Gibson office.
2024 Outcomes: Building the School of Hope
With the support of our team, family, friends and clients, in 2024, the Gibson Impact Challenge raised £18,951.01, which has enabled substantial improvements at the Kabiro School of Hope in Nairobi, Kenya, transforming it in to a School of Hope operated in partnership with ChallengeAid.
We were so encouraged to see how far the funding we raised went for the school and community. The funding supported the refurbishment of the school and the introduction of a number of new facilities and programmes, including:
- Establishment of an online learning centre, providing access to lessons delivered by teachers in Wales.
- Acquisition of new books and learning materials.
- Provision of sports equipment and the creation of a dedicated basketball space.
- Expansion of co-curricular activities, including football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, chess, music, drama, and art.
- Enhanced training for volunteer teachers.
As a result, by the end of 2024, 93 girls and 102 boys were actively engaged in academic and co-curricular activities. Academic outcomes have also improved significantly, with:
- 3 students securing university places – the first time the school has achieved this milestone.
- 9 students qualifying for diploma programmes.
- 12 students enrolling for craft-level qualifications.
In addition, the school has strengthened teacher development and literacy support:
- Specialist science teacher training was provided to staff in collaboration with prominent national schools in Kenya.
- The Accelerated Literacy Programme (ALP), delivered by ChallengeAid in partnership with Strathmore University, supported 30 students from Grades 3 to 6 in acquiring basic reading and writing skills. Two Kabiro teachers received training at Strathmore University to implement the ALP, with further support from university student volunteers.
We are so proud of what was acheived at the school and for the children and community of Kawangware in 2024. We look forward to providing ChallengeAid with the funds this year to future-proof the school with a new classroom and students with high school scholarships.
